stands for Software Adaptation Management
The founders of SAM Engineering are former localisation managers and project engineers from one of the International Localisation Centres of the old Digital Equipment Corp. They were responsible for managing the internationalisation (I18n) and localisation (L10n) of various software products and customised applications, as well as simultaneous rollout to all the East and West European language markets on platforms such as VMS, UNIX, DOS, Windows, and Macintosh. Since founding the company in 1994, they have used their many years of experience and their engineering and project management know-how to serve the interests of their customers. This accumulated practical knowledge of the computer and IT industries enables SAM Engineering to specialise in the localisation of software products. Over the years, the company has consistently and capably developed its technical exertise in various sectors of industry. The team at SAM Engineering is made up of highly-qualified computer and language specialists and has wide-ranging experience of multilingual localisation and translation projects. This combination of linguistic ability and technical knowledge provides the outstanding level of expertise required to complete multilingual localisation and translation projects. We take full advantage of all the benefits of modern, intelligent computer technology in our localisation and translation projects. For example, we use various translation memory and software localisation tools that are ideal for localising software user interfaces and translating documentation and online help. In addition to the in-house team at SAM Engineering, we work in close cooperation and partnership with qualified freelance translators, most of whom live in the target country, as well as translation agencies and software companies throughout Europe, North and South America and Asia. |
